              Remie Longeway1 (M)
              b. c 1741, d. 18 Sep 1826
              Pedigree

Remie Longeway was the son of André Bodinaud and Marie Trigori. Remie Longeway was born circa 1741; known as Rene Bodineau dit Langevin in early records. He was baptized on 5 August 1751 in Saint-Germain, Chavagnes, Maine-et-Loire, France. He was born on 5 August 1751 in Chavagnes, Maine-et-Loire, France. He married Genevieve Raymond, daughter of Joseph Raymond and Genevieve Gagner, on 11 October 1784 in Chambly, Chambly Co, QC; St Joseph's R.C. Church. Remie Longeway died on 18 September 1826 in Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, QC.2 He was buried on 19 September 1826 in St George's Anglican Cemetery, Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, QC.
It has been difficult in getting further information on Remie Longeway - also known as Rene Bodinaud dit Langevin. The writer is unfamiliar with searching French records and so have not made any great advances in this direction.
The marriage at Chambly, Quebec, between Rene and Genevieve Raimond on the 11th of October 1784 is the only real document giving us info on either of them. Rene was then a resident of that parish, and both of his parents were already deceased, his parents having lived in the parish of St Germaine de Chavagne, Diocese of Angers, when alive. Genevieve's parents, Joseph Raimond and Genevieve Gagne were of that parish - and Joseph was deceased. Going by the translation that Albert Smith gave, it leads me to believe that, perhaps, Genevieve Gagne Raimond was still alive in 1784. The marriage record also mentions Nicholas Magni and Pierre Boivin being friends of the groom, and Jean, Catherine and Magdeleine Cigo as his cousins, which might give us valuable clues on where to start next. Pierre Lamoureux was listed as a friend of the bride. This is the next avenue to travel. As of 1751, Remie Longeway was also known as René-Nicolas Bodinaud dit Langevin.
