Daniel Belding was born about 1754, likely the son of Jared Belding (b. 1716) and Dinah Thomas of New Haven, Connecticut. I have yet to prove this, but most evidence points in this direction. The Thomas family and Belding family of Saint John were tightly connected and this conclusion, along with the feeling that Mabel Bristol has to be a child of David Bristol and Mabel Thomas, brings this forth. They had a dau Mabel who "died" 10 Aug 1763 there, and I feel this may be an error in the records. If not an error and actually a death, then I feel sure that they quickly named another daughter Mabel.
This is a but a glimpse into his family. Anyone having any information on this family, please contact me. I would love to firm up dates, correct any errors in my database. I toss the gauntlet out to other Belding researchers to bring forth new ideas to the ancestry of both Daniel Belding and Mabel Bristol.
